After many years baking for friends and family, cake designer Alison Ashcroft fully launched Frost & Crumb in 2017. Alison earned her stripes as designer in London where she studied fashion and marketing, and had the opportunity to work at London Fashion Week as well as make garments for film and TV stars including Ant & Dec and Hugh Grant.
This was followed by a successful career in digital marketing where Alison worked with top brand clients including Marmite, Magnum ice cream and the Royal Collection Buckingham Palace, to name but a few, before deciding to pursue her true lifelong passion for baking and cake design.
Alison has learnt from some of the best in the industry, having attended training with Le Cordon Bleu cookery school in London, Squires Kitchen, Bath Cake Company, and National Wedding Award winning cake designers Curtis & Co, Poppy Pickering and Cove Cake Design. Alison was awarded bronze in the Squires Kitchen Exhibition 'Show Stopper' Wedding Cake category in 2018. Frost & Crumb were also awarded Best Newcomer in the South West Region at the Wedding Industry Awards 2019 and were a National Finalist.

At Frost & Crumb we are fast becoming known for our on-trend contemporary designs and absolutely delicious tasting cakes throughout Wiltshire, the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. Frost & Crumb regularly exhibit at wedding shows across the South West, including the Great Western Wedding Show, the Gloucester Wedding Show and Bobbi Brown Bridal Week.
Flavour and quality is at the heart of everything we bake at Frost & Crumb. We believe cakes taste divine when they are made in small batches from the finest ingredients and natural flavours. This is why all of our cakes are handcrafted from raw ingredients, we only use organic free range eggs and real butter in our recipes. We aim to balance our flavours so that you can eat a large slice and won't find it too sickly sweet.
All of our cake fillings are hand-made in our cake studio in North Swindon, from our tangy lemon curd to our oozy salted caramel which you'll find liberally drizzled over our cupcakes and celebration cakes.
Our goal is to work alongside our clients to create a bespoke cake that will be the focal point of their wedding or celebration, and will make their guests feel truly special.
We are passionate about the environment, and in 2020 we will be working towards minimising food waste as much as possible, using more recyclable materials and replacing single use plastic such as disposable piping bags, flower pics and plastic dowels with reusable or biodegradable options.
