Wedding Industry Awards

It's at this time of year that we start reflecting on all that we have achieved so far, and look ahead to the autumn when the wedding industry gives recognition to the best suppliers in the region and across the UK.

As a new business it's super scary entering awards for the first time, but what better time to challenge ourselves and get some feedback on how we are doing to help shape the business going forward. We have therefore decided to enter the Whitewed directory awards in the best business start-up category judged against new suppliers across all areas of the wedding industry (we are vetted members of the Whitewed directory), and the big one... The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) 2019 in the best wedding cake designer and best newcomer categories.

TWIA was set up to recognise excellent wedding suppliers and help anyone organising a wedding find the best suppliers. It's completely unique as it's the only awards where the only votes that count are from couples who have worked with you over the past year. Once the votes are in, a regional panel reviews and shortlists the entries and those who are successful will be put forward for the regional final in November (this year being held at Rockbeare Manor in Devon).

Those who are winners in their regional categories go forward to the national finals in London in January. In the wedding cake category this years judges are the amazing Adele Duthrie (editor at wedding cakes magazine), Helen Mansey (tutor at Squires Kitchen) and Rosalind Miller (preferred wedding cake supplier to Harrods). There's even a tasting in the wedding cake judging category for those that get that far.

What's really great is we will get a copy of all the feedback once the judging closes, and this year includes a constructive criticism box to leave helpful suggestion that are for our eyes only and help us improve our service for future couples.

Previous best wedding cake winners in our South West region include Fancie Buns Cake Studio (current 2018 winner based in Dorset & Hampshire), Edible Essence (2017 winner based in Devon) and Cut Me Off a Slice (2016 winner based in Devon & Cornwall).

The national winners have included The Wedding & Events Lounge (2018), Edible Essence (2017) and Poppy Pickering (2016).

If you got married between 24.10.17 and 09.10.18 and we supplied your wedding cake you will be eligible to vote. If you have any professional photo's or your videographer captured you cutting the cake, we'd love to include these in our submission.

We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us so far and voted, it really means the world to us and would mean a massive boost to the profile of our business if we are lucky enough to get shortlisted for the regional finals.

Don't forget, voting closes at midnight on 9th October 2018.

Wish us luck.
